Birch Swart is a Singer Songwriter/Guitarist from the South Shore of Massachusetts. His roots lie in folk, bluegrass, reggae, rock and jam music. Birch originally started as a drummer but picked up the guitar in elementary school and over time learned how to express his creativity through melody/lyrics using the guitar as his primary tool.

In the last few years Birch has made his presence known on the local scene by playing everything from bars to festivals solo as well as with an assortment of bands/musicians. Birch has been on festival bills such as Levitate Music festival, TerpTown Throwdown and Flannel Jam sharing the bill with well known artists including Trey Anestasio, Goose, Old Crow Medicine Show, Melt, Stick Figure, Mihali, Ripe, Ziggy Marley and more.

Rick Crowell // Drums

Rick is an East coast drummer based out of Massachusetts. By age 6 his passion for all things percussion quickly went from pots and pans to a 1970 Roger's Butcher Block kit.

Rick developed his groove/linear feel having been influenced heavily by Carter Beauford, Tony Royster Jr., Jojo Mayer, and Clyde Stubblefield among other talented artists.

His Diverse Musical Collaborations include Buster Cherry (top 40/original), Jake Hill (pop/folk bluegrass), Grey Street (DMB cover band), Bazookafoot (rock/funk/blues), as well as his collaborations with Birch Swart leading up to Wolf Tree.

Chris Preble // Bass, Vocals

Chris is a bassist, vocalist, and sometimes percussionist originally from central NH, where he started playing bass as he entered high school.

Since then, he has played in predominantly pop-punk and alternative projects like The Yellow Team and Waymaker, but most recently has been a frequent fill-in for The Wildflower Dub Squad playing alongside Birch Swart, until collaborating with Birch and Rick to form Wolf Tree.

Chris draws musical influence from artists such as Vulfpeck, Scary Goldings, Goose, and Sammy Rae and the Friends, as well a host of alternative, punk, and Japanese pop/rock groups.
